Description

The Science for Resilience Pilot Programme is a six months pilot programme that aims to contribute to resilience of states, communities and citizens across the Western Balkans to COVID-19 pandemic and its adverse impacts, by using and promoting science and scientific evidence. The programme thematic focus is around COVID-19 pandemic and its adverse impacts, and it crosscuts different sectors and themes, such as environment, health, education, gender, etc. Primary project beneficiaries are young female and male researchers, students and activists, while the secondary are policymakers, donors' representatives, and NGOs leaders across the Western Balkan region. The British Council is looking to appoint a reputable service provider, who will conduct the third phase of the research, with the following qualities: • Strong qualitative and quantitative research portfolio, evidenced by previous projects; • Expertise in conducting interviews evidenced by previous research projects and consultancy; • Strong dedicated team with suitable research experience and qualifications; • Ability to cover all Western Balkan counters (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia); • Offering good value for money; • Capacity to deliver within the timeframes set out. The programme intends to achieve the following outcomes: • Outcome 1: Young female and male researchers and activists have capacities to use evidence to more effectively engage with policy and public • Outcome 2: Policymakers, donors, NGOs' aware of and influenced by the policy briefs/surveys in their responding to COVID-19 pandemic • Outcome 3: The general public targeted by trained young researchers is more informed by science and scientific evidence in responding to COVID-19 pandemic
