Description
The BBC has a long history of performance groups, today the BBC retains a number of performance groups, across the UK, including 5 Orchestras (Symphony, Concert,Philharmonic, Scottish Symphony & National Orchestra of Wales) and a Choral Ensemble (BBC Singers). The groups work on a number of projects (made up of events and resources) throughout the calendar year both internally e.g. Recordings for Radio Stations and externally e.g. International Tours. All performance groups require the use of a software system to create and manage their projects. The groups currently use a client based system and the project aims to replace or upgrade the existing system to enable flexible remote working and to address a number of issues with the current product.
