Description

NHS North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) invited suitably qualified service providers to submit tenders for the provision of Termination of Pregnancy Services in North East Essex. The successful Provider is expected to manage the following aspects of Terminations of Pregnancy service: - Terminations <24 weeks (unless excluded under this contract) - Sexual Health advice, information and signposting Contraception and birth control (i.e. IUD) - Any women who chooses not to be seen within an NHS trust for: *Evacuation of products of conception from uterus. Pathways and processes will be developed as part of the mobilisation period; *Miscarriage <10 weeks. Pathways and processes will be developed as part of the mobilisation period. - Sexual health testing - Chlamydia - HIV testing.

Total Quantity or Scope

The Provider will be responsible for ensuring that those referred into the service are put on the pathway as soon as possible, to ensure a timely outcome for the woman. This will include but will not be limited to: - Providing a flexible, responsive and accessible service that gives women the widest opportunity to receive care within the care model of the provider. - Offering services outside of 9-5 working hours, where it can be demonstrated by either the commissioner or provider it achieves the best outcomes for women - Providing services locally within North East Essex within a minimum of 2 days assessment/operational days a week - Offering services at the weekend, where it can be demonstrated by either the commissioner or provider it achieves the best outcomes for women - Offering services in the most appropriate setting. Additional information: The Contract will run for 5 years (with the option to extend by a further 2 years) commencing on the 01/09/2022.

Renewal Options

The contract term will be for an initial 60 months, with the option to extend by a further 24 months. You are advised that the £3,161,429 value relates to the 7 years (5 years plus option to extend by 2 years). The maximum contract value for the 5 year contract is £2,258,164.
