Description
Bridgend County Borough Council, as host authority for Valleys Regional Park and on behalf of the Valleys Regional Park Partnership, wishes to award and appoint a provider for its Guardians Initiative project.
Total Quantity or Scope
Bridgend County Borough Council, as host authority for Valleys Regional Park (VRP) and on behalf of the Valleys Regional Park Partnership, wishes to procure and appoint a provider for its Guardians Scheme to commence in April 2021 until March 2023. The Scheme is a priority activity within the Valleys Regional Park action plan, has been endorsed by the Valleys Taskforce and is funded by the Rural Development Fund. The creation of a small cohort of Guardians will augment and build on the activities of community connectors already within public and third sector organisations across our Valleys. The prime objective of the Guardians Scheme is to better connect individuals and communities with the natural and cultural assets of our valleys through wellbeing, learning and volunteering opportunities. Guardians Scheme opportunities offer social, cultural and economic benefits as well as addressing environmental challenges. The Guardians will be responsible for communicating the VRP vision and practical delivery of relevant activities, primarily at Discovery Gateways, but also at appropriate community hubs. Crucially, they will network with existing and developing provision in our Valleys and engage with individuals and communities across the region.
