The current contract will be modified to include Welfare Reform Mitigations up to the end of March 2024, subject to funding from the Department for Communities. Financial year 2223 - £88,222.51 Financial year 2324 - £95,570.62 (subject to funding)

Legal Justification

This relates to the variation of an existing contract. Additional funding has been provided by the Department for Communities to include welfare reform mitigations for financial years 2223 and 2324 to the Advice Services Contract. The advice services contract is run by Community Advice Lisburn and Castlereagh. This direct award is permitted by Regulation 72(1)(b) of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (b) for additional works, services or supplies by the original contractor that have become necessary and were not included in the initial procurement, where a change of contractor— • cannot be made for economic or technical reasons such as requirements of interchangeability or interoperability with existing equipment, services or installations procured under the initial procurement, provided that any increase in price does not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract;
