Description
Fully automated flow cytometer for drinking water analysis at locations on Water Treatment sites. Flow cytometer must not require a specialist operator and will be installed on-site at a water treatment works. Flow cytometry to allow for the counting of bacterial cells using DNA specific dyes which also allow for further interpretation of the bacterial population with the 'fluorescence fingerprint' based upon the DNA content of the bacteria within a sample.

Legal Justification
The Bactosense product is the only fully automated flow cytometer for drinking water analysis that is available on the market. Unlike other commercially available flow cytometers this product does not require a specialist operator and can be installed on-site at a water treatment works. Flow cytometry allows for the counting of bacterial cells using DNA specific dyes. These dyes also allow for further interpretation of the bacterial population with the 'fluorescence fingerprint', which based upon the DNA content of the bacteria within a sample. There is no other product that can provide this information.
