Description

We are procuring the trial of innovative methodologies for the coordination of high-density heat pump deployments within Great Britain. This was a close competition, only open to those who were successful in Phase 1 of the competition.

Total Quantity or Scope

In Stream 1, Phase 2, the selected project teams will be following their innovative methodology, working together with their identified key stakeholders and decision makers, to test the effectiveness of their innovative methodology. Through the trial of each project’s innovative methodology for the coordination of high-density heat pump deployment, BEIS expects project teams to deliver: • Cost-savings relative to current average deployment costs for domestic heat pumps. • High-density deployment of domestic heat pumps3 – i.e. transition a large proportion of domestic consumers within a single area over a short period of time (before the end of the trial project, end November 2024). • An enhanced ‘consumer journey’ – providing high levels of consumer satisfaction throughout the deployment.

Legal Justification

This programme is linked to a Phase 1, which was issued on 22 December 2022. This competition was under threshold and so, was published on Contracts Finder only. This competition is above threshold but restricted to only those that successfully completed Phase 1. However, their is no prior publication in the OJEU due to the original Phase 1 being under threshold.
