Description

Cefas requires the Contractor to provide a high quality service for the provision of E. coli Services including sampling planning, sample management and transport, analysis, reporting and publication.

Total Quantity or Scope

coli Services as defined in relevant national Legislation and further described in the Legal Framework for E.coli , Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the FSS Protocols for official control sampling and transport of shellfish, Sample Submission Forms, Reporting procedures, Production Sites and Representative Monitoring Points and exclusion criteria.

Legal Justification

Regulation 32. (2) (b) (ii) - competition is lacking for technical reasons. Shellfish samples are required to be delivered to the Lab for E.coli testing within <48 hrs from collection. SSQC are the only UKAS accredited Official Control Lab on Shetland able to provide this service within these timescales.
