Description

UK Telebrief - The UK Telebrief System is the only formal method of launching fighter aircraft, throughout the RAF. The system is ready to launch fighter aircraft at very short notice for the purpose of defending the airspace around the UK, or in response to an aviation security incident (Operation (Op) ADANA). The UK Telebrief System carries voice communications between the fighter controller at the CRCs located at RAF Boulmer / NATS Swanwick.

Legal Justification

The Contract Notice was issued on the 28/03/2023 and no suppliers registered interest via the Defence Sourcing Portal. However, Thales UK Ltd informed the Authority by email of their interest in this contract opportunity. Therefore, in the circumstances as there is an absence of tenders in response to ADEWS/115 the Authority will use the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice to negotiate with Thales UK Ltd on the basis that the initial conditions of the contract are not substantially altered
