NB: this is an award notice only ORE Catapult tendered and procured a bespoke Grid Emulation System ("System") in 2017. The purpose of this award is to Contract GE Power Conversion UK Ltd (the original OEM) to perform ongoing maintenance and support services for the equipment to maximize system performance and availability and provide breakdown support in the event of failure of the GE designed and installed Grid Emulation System at ORE Catapult Site in Blyth.

Total Quantity or Scope

The purpose of this award is to Contract GE Power Conversion UK Ltd (the original OEM) to perform ongoing maintenance and support services for the equipment to maximize system performance and availability and provide breakdown support in the event of failure of the GE designed and installed Grid Emulation System at ORE Catapult Site in Blyth Included in the Support & Maintenance service is the following: • Emergency Maintenance • 24/7 Telephone Helpdesk service. • Predictive Maintenance • Preventative Maintenance . • Routine Maintenance

Legal Justification

The Negotiated without Prior Publication process was deemed the most appropriate solution due to the technical complexity, proprietary equipment, software coding and engineering know-how of the bespoke system. GE is the designer and OEM of the System, and no other reasonable alternative or substitute exists, and the absence of a competition is not the result of artificially narrowing the parameters of the requirement.
