Legal Justification

This is a voluntary ex ante transparency notice (VEAT). This notice is to indicate that the Heriot-Watt University intends to contract with CampusLife Limited for the purchase of a Student Communication Portal-Browzer. A scoping exercise was conducted by our Campus Services department with findings drawn that CampusLife`s Student Communication Platform - Browzer (which incorporates Browzer and Student Welcome) was first launched in 2012, and provides a unique tool for universities to both welcome their students to their institution (and/or accommodation), and continue that communication with them throughout their student journey via an integrated series of welcome content, ongoing comms platform, integration with social media tools, and insight-led reporting providing useful compliance data to ensure students have read and understood the information they have been provided with. CampusLife Limited are the only company to offer such a holistic solution that brings together a welcome platform for students, an ongoing comms platform via Browzer with social media management capabilities, and content creation and management in one service. There are no other suppliers available in the market that can supply this type of Student Communication Platform in the form factor required.
