West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) provide Forensic Collision Investigation services to the Yorkshire and Humber police forces. FCI services are provided regionally, whilst operating from one of our four bases at Melton (Near Hull), Sheffield, Thirsk and Wakefield. The Forensic Collision Investigation Unit provide cover across the whole of the Yorkshire and Humber region an area covering close to 5000 square miles with a population of over 5 million, bisected by three of the north's busiest motorways. We attend scenes ranging from single vehicle collisions on country lanes to multi vehicle incidents on motorways. West Yorkshire Police (WYP) are getting ready to tender of behalf of the Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) for the the replacement of their Laser Scanners and ongoing Maintenance/Support within the Forensic collision division.
