Cheshire East Council has sought to commission a provider to provide an Infection Prevention Control (IPC) and Tuberculosis (TB) service across the borough. The focus of the IPC work will take the form of primary prevention; aiming to stop outbreaks occurring by providing high quality advice, information and training to ensure effective infection control measures are implemented, as well as secondary prevention; so that the impact of any outbreaks is minimised as far as possible. The TB Nursing provision will be community driven and will offer advice/guidance, screen patients within local settings and support with secondary-care treatment plans.

Legal Justification

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) award notice. Cheshire East Council has awarded a contract for the provision of an infection, prevention and control service. The awarding of this contract is subject to Direct Award Process A under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. Cheshire East Council have awarded this contract to the existing provider following satisfactory review that the incumbent supplier are the only capable provider. No conflicts were declared nor identified.
