Description
CMAL has appointed a supplier in respect of Shipyard Detailed Design and Build Contract for seven Vehicle and Passenger Carrying Ferries
Total Quantity or Scope
The contract appointment will be for the detailed design and build of seven (7) replacement vessels. The successful contractor will develop detailed designs, calculations, and drawings of the vessels in conjunction with the owner, the classification society, the UK flag state authority (where the ships will be registered) and any other relevant authorities, for approval. The successful contractor will design, construct, test and survey, launch, equip, trial at sea and complete the vessels(s) in accordance with the approved detailed designs, calculations and drawings.

** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** The Builder is committed to providing measurable Community Benefit to the Clyde & Hebrides region and shall (1) provide training/familiarisation during each vessel's optimisation trials, for up to three apprentices in the maritime trades to be selected by the Buyer from the Clyde & Hebrides region; and (2) support and engage with the Buyer's established Corporate & Social Responsibility Steering Group, actively participating in the Group's initiatives and providing tangible contribution in-kind to the charitable causes and local projects supported by the Group's ongoing work in the communities served by the Buyer's fleet of vessels.
