Description
Air pollution is a key challenge across the West Midlands, with the main pollutants of concern being Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and Particulate Matter (PM2.5 and PM10). The contract is for the design, development and supply of a remotely hosted Air Quality Forecast and Alert System for the West Midlands region, which will predict and report on specific air pollutants and use the UK government 10-point DAQI scale to represent pollution levels. The system will need to be maintained up till September 2028 and offer an air pollution alert subscription service which will cover the constituent local authorities within the WMCA.

Other Information
The WMCA has incorporated an extension option into the contract for up to a further 3 years, subject to funding availability and mutual agreement between the WMCA and Provider. The extension option will cover any ongoing maintenance of the system. The awarded value for the initial contract period (28th April 2025 to 30th September 2028) is £99,842 (exc VAT). Should the value of extension option (£30,000) be fully utilised then the maximum potential awarded value for this contract is £129,842 (exc VAT) and contract end date will be 30/09/2031.
