Description

UKIFS is seeking to procure a suitable Supplier (an individual organisation or a consortium with a lead supplier) for a NEC4 Professional Services contract to provide STEP Technologies Global Supply Chain Analysis and Exploitation of Economic Value. The definitive statement of UKIFS’s requirements is set out in the Service Specification - Appendix B. The term of the Contract is 12 months. The estimated budget for the Contract is £300,000 for Lot 1 and £500,000 for Lot 2. Total £800,000 including expenses (excluding VAT) for the initial term of 12 months. Lot 1 and Lot 2 may be awarded to either a single bidder or two separate bidders, depending on the distinct skill sets required for each.

Lot Division

1 Exploitation of Economic Value of STEP Prototype
  • Value: £300K

Independent, expert, global analysis of the relative economic value of the opportunities associated with the technology development (and a selection of critical materials where they may offer opportunities for sourcing or processing in the UK) demand created by the STEP Prototype. Taking each of the technologies, or a sub-set selected for their economic value potential, deliver an understanding of the nature of this commercial potential and the barriers and opportunities open to STEP in stimulating or attracting it to the UK economy.

2 Global Supply Chain Mapping & Analysis
  • Value: £500K

UK Industrial Fusion Solutions (UKIFS) seeks to appoint a highly capable and experienced supplier to deliver a strategic global supply chain analysis that is essential to the successful commercial delivery of the STEP Prototype Fusion Plant. This contract (Lot 2 of the procurement) will support UKIFS in identifying, evaluating, and prioritising opportunities across the global supply base for STEP’s technology needs. The outcome must be a fully informed, practical, and prioritised view of where and how the STEP programme can extract value and benefit from existing supply chains, and where and how it should stimulate capability development, attract inward investment or foster new industrial partnerships to enable long-term delivery success. Critically, this is not a desktop research exercise. UKIFS expects the successful supplier to bring deep expertise, value-added insight, and international reach, delivering a level of analysis, judgement and synthesis that would not be achievable through internal capability alone. Key to the success of this contract is the ability to combine supply chain mapping with a strategic understanding of commercial value, delivery risk, policy context, and long-term technical and supply chain capability development.
