Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive t/a Nexus are inviting potential contractors to attend a Preliminary Market Engagement workshop on 12th September in Newcastle, relating to an upcoming opportunity for permanent way and overhead line replacement/renewal. The Airport Route Upgrade project will also require some aspects of civils and signalling works and we are looking for a Principal Contractor to undertake the entirety of the works. The tender is be released in early 2026 with the construction works planned to take place during Summer 2027.
