Description

The Council has been allocated funding from the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) fund administered by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) to stimulate the investment of a private charge point operator (CPO) in borough-wide electric vehicle charging infrastructure in residential areas. The Council intends to procure a concession contract with a CPO partner to provide a minimum of 400 charging sockets. The Council will be procuring a new concession contract for a period of 15 years. The concessionaire will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of the charging infrastructure during the contract period.

** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** Due to additional scrutiny required on sites to be used the tender notice is now due to be published in September rather than August as previously estimated. The estimated contract start date has changed from November 2025 to April 2026, as a result of market feedback indicating that a significantly longer tender response period is required than previously anticipated. The contract term has also been updated from up to 20 years to 15 years as per the requirements of the funding body - the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV).
