EKFB NC2A - Transport and installation of precast tunnel segments

Description

The Wendover Green Tunnel consists of five pre-cast concrete segments but is intersected by two bridges negating the ability to place the tunnel sections by traditional crane. An alternative solution anticipated using an SPMT (Self-Propelled Modular Transporter). Product weights are dividing wall 43.6tonne, arch wall 37.5 tonne, arch roof 19tonne. The arch roof sections are lifted to approx. 12m high. The tunnel segments have been procured and are delivered to site on trailers.
