Description
Services supporting adults diagnosed with a stroke
Total Quantity or Scope
The Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board (UHB) provides stroke care for residents of all Cardiff and Vale population. The stroke pathway incorporates all elements of stroke prevention, emergency stroke assessment and treatment, secondary inpatient care and rehabilitation services from University Hospital Llandough. The UHB is looking to commission a third sector provider to deliver a range of activities/services which support adults diagnosed with a stroke, their family and carers with high quality information advice and emotional support. The purpose of these activities is to facilitate a smooth transition from hospital to home and ensure stroke survivors and carers feel supported on returning home. People who have had a stroke may need to receive support in a timely way to help them with their psychological and emotional wellbeing. This notice is an intention to award a contract for Cardiff and Vale UHB based on the most suitable provider under the Provider Selection Regime Wales (PSR Wales).

This is a Provider Selection Regime Wales (PSR Wales) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Services (Provider Selection Regime) (Wales) Regulations 2025. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015/Procurement Act 2023 do not apply to this award. The publication of this notice marks the start of the standstill period. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by 31st October 2025. This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR Wales. The decision to award was evaluated off the responses issued from the Prior Information Notice (PIN). It was concluded that no other provider was able to support both mental and physical aspects of the requirements set. (WA Ref:156983)
