Description

The University of Birmingham previously established a framework agreement for the provision of printing services across a range of specialist areas. This was lotted as outlined below: Lot 1: Premium Large Printers - Provision of high quality print for key University publications, such as the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Prospectuses and university magazines. - Variable data and distribution services. Lot 2: General Mid-range Printers - Provision of quality print for a variety of general short to medium run printed material, such as brochures, leaflets, folders and calendars. Lot 3: Display and Exhibition Services (Wide format signage) - Provision of a variety of quality display and exhibition services, such as pull ups, pop up banner stands, wall graphics, vehicle wraps, lamp-post flags. - Provision of a quality graphic and signage installation service.

Legal Justification

The current outsourced printing framework is due for renewal. To ensure continuity of service and allow sufficient time for a comprehensive re-tendering process, the University of Birmingham intends to extend the existing framework agreement for a further 12 months until November 2026. This extension is necessary to maintain access to specialist services based on expertise, pricing, and availability. A formal procurement process will be undertaken to establish the new framework agreement during 2026.
