Description

YPO are looking for Suppliers to be appointed onto a Framework Agreement following a Competitive Tendering Procedure for the supply of Batteries for use primarily in the education market and local authority sectors. This Framework is designed to meet the needs of YPO by establishing an agreement for Suppliers to deliver stock into YPO's distribution centre in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Lot Division

1 Carbon Zinc Batteries

This Lot is for the provision of carbon zinc batteries with goods to be delivered into YPO's warehouse
2 Alkaline Batteries (Low Drain)

This lot is for the provision of low drain alkaline batteries with goods to be delivered into YPO's warehouse
3 Alkaline Batteries (High Drain)

This lot is for the provision of high drain alkaline batteries with goods to be delivered into YPO's warehouse
4 Rechargeable Batteries

This lot is for the provision of rechargeable batteries with goods to be delivered into YPO's warehouse

Renewal Options

The Framework Agreement will cover the period from 2nd March 2026 to 1st March 2028 with two options to extend for an additional 12 months. The first decision to extend the Framework period will be taken by the end of January 2028 and will be dependent on satisfactory completion of all aspects of the Framework Agreement to date, the current market conditions for this category and YPO's contracting structures. The maximum Framework Agreement period will therefore be 4 years, from 2nd March 2026 to 1st March 2030 (subject to an annual review, incorporating price re-establishment and KPI performance).

Award Criteria

Cost There will be two criteria which will be: Pricing submission is cost criteria question 1.1 with a weighting of 70% allocated of the overall 50% weighting applied to the Cost criteria. Pricing term is cost criteria question 1.2 with a weighting of 30% allocated of the overall 50% weighting applied to the Cost criteria.
Quality There will be two criteria which will be: Continuous improvement is quality criteria question 2.1 with a weighting of 50% allocated of the overall 20% weighting applied to the Quality criteria. Quality and product sourcing is quality criteria question 2.2 with a weighting of 50% allocated of the overall 20% weighting applied to the Quality criteria.
Delivery and Customer Service There will be two criteria which will be: Lead times and stock holding is Delivery and Customer Service criteria question 3.1 with a weighting of 50% allocated of the overall 10% weighting applied to the Delivery and Customer Service criteria. Customer care is Delivery and Customer Service criteria question 3.2 with a weighting of 50% allocated of the overall 10% weighting applied to the Delivery and Customer Service criteria.
Social Value /Sustainability There will be three criteria which will be: Social value is Social Value /Sustainability criteria question 4.1 with a weighting of 45% allocated of the overall 20% weighting applied to the Social Value /Sustainability criteria. Responsible procurement is Social Value /Sustainability criteria question 4.2 with a weighting of 10% allocated of the overall 20% weighting applied to the Social Value /Sustainability criteria. Priority themes is Social Value /Sustainability criteria question 4.1 with a weighting of 45% allocated of the overall 20% weighting applied to the Social Value /Sustainability criteria.
