Legal Justification

UCLH are purchasing additional theatre instruments for their NHNN theatres. The contract is being directly awarded, under schedule 5 of the Procurement Act 2023. Please see below justification for the direct award. • These are additional theatre instrument sets, replacing worn or broken existing instruments or increasing the number of instrument sets to improve theatre workflows. • These are highly specialist neurosurgical instruments, introducing alternatives which may be different would introduce inconsistencies and unnecessary clinical risks. • Alternative instruments and instrument sets would introduce logistical challenges with the sterilisation and storage.
