Direct Award of SAP Annual Support and Maintenance Renewal This transparency notice is issued in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 to inform the market of the contracting authority's intention to renew its annual SAP support and maintenance contract for it's existing SAP estate. The authority currently relies on SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) platform as a core business-critical system. Continued SAP support and maintenance is required to secure uninterrupted support of critical business systems. The authority has a 12 month renewal option, this notice reflects the renewal for the next 12-month period.

Legal Justification

For the reasons detailed above, United Utilities intends to renew its SAP Support and Maintenance on the following basis: The public contract concerns the supply of goods, services or works by the existing supplier, which are intended as an extension to or partial replacement of existing goods, services or works in circumstances where a) a change in supplier would result in the contracting authority receiving goods, services or works that are different from or incompatible with the existing goods services or works; and b) the difference or incompatibility would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance.
