Other Information
The supplier will conduct a comprehensive analysis of the UK Semiconductor sector - both as it is currently and as it evolves over time - building on and improving the 2023 sector study. The 2023 Semiconductor sector study explored areas such as the UK's semiconductor design and manufacturing capabilities, supply chain resilience, workforce and skills landscape, and investment trends. Through a combination of researching, surveying and interviewing the previous study was able to gain a rich insight regarding semiconductor sectoral activity in the UK, allowing DSIT to support the sector. Building on existing work, the supplier will undertake updated analysis on the UK Semiconductor Sector's contribution to the UK economy, providing robust evidence to inform government policy making. This study will provide an updated baseline data on the size and scale of the UK's semiconductor sector, incorporating new evidence and data sources that have emerged since the previous study. It will also evaluate the sector's progress over the past two years, identifying new developments and trends. This will provide evidence for initial assessments of the impact of the IS and inform future policy decisions. The supplier will be required to deliver the final report, along with a clean and quality-assured database suitable for conducting analysis, by the 31st March 2025. n/a Semi_Conductor_Study_signed_redacted.pdf
