Data Transformation & Distribution service and the Routeing Guide are critical components of the UK rail retail and operational framework. They ensure accurate routing, fares, timetable data distribution, and manual data capture for industry systems. The current supplier’s team possesses over 12 years of technical knowledge and expertise in these systems and associated industry processes having designed and developed the bespoke systems for Rail Settlement Plan Ltd that are thoroughly embedded. The Direct Award is justified because reprocuring could result in an incompatibility between existing systems and new services and could also result in time consuming and complex redesign and modification which could be unacceptable in the circumstances, for example, resulting in significant cost and/or delay to an important service.
