Description

This contract provides a single point of access for referrers and patients across Sussex to access specialist bereavement services for people bereaved by suicide, as well as a West Sussex service to provide information, advice and support for the same group.

Total Quantity or Scope

This notice is to advise of an urgent award of contract in order to provide continuity and ensure patient safety whilst a Sussex-wide specification is completed and the commissioning direction confirmed. The reason for urgency is that there is no option to extend or novate the current contract from West Sussex County Council and therefore NHS Sussex ICB will need to maintain continuity of service by contracting directly with the existing Provider. The Commissioner intends to review the services in line with neighbourhood team development before making a decision on whether to move to open procurement. This review will be undertaken during the term of the new contract. The contract length is in order to ensure parity with other Sussex bereavement contracts which are being novated to the ICB. The award is for one year, during which time it will be assessed alongside Brighton and Hove and East Sussex services in order to plan for a Sussex wide service. This notice is confirmation of an award having been made due to an urgent circumstance. The lifetime value of this contract is £77,368.00 across the 12-month period between 01/04/2026 - 31/03/2027.
