Description
Targeted short break activities provide opportunities for children and young people with SEND to engage in fun, safe and supportive activities independently. They allow children and young people to have independence and social opportunities away from their families whilst giving parents/carers a break from their caring roles and responsibilities. Targeted short break activities can also provide opportunities for the whole family to enjoy activities together. Since April 2025 Stoke-on-Trent City Council has commissioned Targeted Short Break Activities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) via a framework. The framework in due to re-open for new providers to join from 1st April 2026. This service is managed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council who, through a series of call-off agreements, will engage, collaborate and work with organisations to deliver a broad range of short break activities meeting the needs of our families and their children/ young people.
