Description

The direct award is for the provision of a Fleet Management for the accurate and efficient management of the Council’s fleet and all associated operations. The Council are intending to Direct Award to Assetworks, who are the incumbent supplier of the current software. The contract will be for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend on a 1 year + 1 year basis up to the maximum contract duration of 5 years.

Legal Justification

Fleet Services are already using the software. Moving to a new system at this time would create significant disruption to services and cost significant sums to move to a new solution at this time without generating any known and significant benefits. Longer term is the intention to revisit the market for possible solutions near to the end of this new maintenance contract. AssetWorks can supply the Software currently installed (Fleet Focus) as they own the IPR. There are no reasonable alternatives due to the current contract coming to an end.
