Legal Justification

Services commissioned by the Public Health and Communities' team under County Council contracts do not include inflationary clauses as standard. There is an expectation that providers will manage inflation within the overall budget envelope for the contract. However, we do consider discretionary inflationary uplifts at the point of contract extension and when services are recommissioned, and in response to unforeseen cost impacts during the contract. Public Health and Communities' team made a discretionary uplift to eligible contracts in response to the increase in employer National Insurance contributions. As a team, we are committed to working with our providers to ensure the sustainability and quality of the valued services, while also recognising the need to work within the financial envelope of the nationally determined Public Health Grant, LSSSS Grant and Council budgets.
