Description

Swale Borough Council is inviting Expressions of Interest to tender for Control Centre Expansion & Refurbishment Works of Current Structure The contract will entail delivering a fully operational and compliant expansion of the Swale Control Centre facility to accommodate increasing operational demands. This will involve refurbishing the existing infrastructure, which includes the addition of upgraded kitchen facilities and restrooms, along with the establishment of a new office and dedicated server room. The expansion will also introduce a state-of-the-art control centre, significantly enhancing the room's capacity and size, and incorporating a meeting room and a private breakout area for staff.

The contract shall commence on 06/04/2026 and terminate on 31/07/2026. The council may extend the opportunity for a further 3 months. The bidder/s who submit/s the Most Advantageous Tender will be awarded the contract. Expressions of Interest and the Invitation to Tender document must be submitted / uploaded on the Council's e-tendering portal. The closing date for submission of Expressions of Interest and the closing date for the ITT is 09:00am on 16/03/2026. All communication / clarifications must be submitted via the e-tendering portal. Site visit to the Control Centre, St Michaels Road, Sittingbourne, can be arranged on 10/03/2026 or 13/03/2026. Please request through the portal. This tender is being issued with a shortened 10-day submission period due to operational urgency. The previous procurement process did not result in an awardable submission, and the Authority must secure the service within a limited timeframe to avoid disruption to critical operations. In accordance with s54(3) of The Procurement Act for accelerated procurement procedures, the authority considers that the circumstances justify a reduced tender period. The urgency arises from the need to maintain continuity of service and ensure compliance with statutory and operational obligations.
