Description

Provision of Patient Transport Services for patients without access to private vehicles, support from family or friends, or voluntary sector transport, as well as those whose usual transport arrangements are temporarily unavailable. To facilitate efficient and effective patient transport service delivery, the requirement is divided into nineteen geographical Lots. Further information is available in the ITT documents.

Lot Division

1 Aberdeen City and Environs

This lot constitutes transport between NHS Grampian sites and patient homes within local catchment areas in Aberdeen (as per indicative postcodes - AB10, AB11, AB12, AB13, AB14, AB15, AB16, AB21, AB22, AB23, AB24, AB25 ) and vice versa. This includes: o Renal patients attending a NHS Grampian site for an appointment e.g. dialysis treatment. o Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow. Please note that the tender documents are within the Master ITT supplier document area.

2 Banff & Environs

This lot constitutes transport between NHS Grampian sites and patient homes within local catchment areas in Banff - Chalmers Hospital (as per indicative postcodes - AB44, AB45, AB55, AB56, AB53 ) and vice versa. This includes: Renal patients attending a NHS Grampian site for an appointment e.g. dialysis treatment; Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow. 3 Elgin & Environs

This lot constitutes transport between NHS Grampian sites and patient homes within local catchment areas in Elgin - Dr. Gray's Hospital (as per indicative postcodes - IV30, IV31, IV36, IV32, AB38, AB37 ) and vice versa. This includes: o Renal patients attending a NHS Grampian site for an appointment e.g. dialysis treatment. o Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow. 4 Inverurie & Environs

This lot constitutes transport between NHS Grampian sites and patient homes within local catchment areas in Inverurie - Inverurie Hospital (as per indicative postcodes - AB41, AB51, AB52, AB54) and vice versa. This includes: o Renal patients attending a NHS Grampian site for an appointment e.g. dialysis treatment. o Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow. 5 Peterhead & Environ

TThis lot constitutes transport between NHS Grampian sites and patient homes within local catchment areas in Peterhead - Peterhead community Hospital (as per indicative postcodes - AB42, AB43) and vice versa. This includes: o Renal patients attending a NHS Grampian site for an appointment e.g. dialysis treatment. o Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow. 6 Stonehaven & Environs

This lot constitutes transport between NHS Grampian sites and patient homes within local catchment areas in Stonehaven - Kincardine community Hospital (as per indicative postcodes - AB30, AB31, AB32, AB33, AB34, AB35, AB36, AB39) and vice versa. This includes: o Renal patients attending a NHS Grampian site for an appointment e.g. dialysis treatment. o Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow. 7 Journeys across NHS Grampian sites or patients' homes to non-local NHS Grampian sites and vice versa

This Lot covers the transportation of patients to and from other hospitals, GP practices or patient homes within the NHS Grampian region including the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Further information is available on the Specification and ITT docs within the Master ITT supplier document area.

8 Journeys from across NHS Grampian to anywhere outside NHSG South

This Lot covers the transportation of Patients to hospitals outside NHSG catchment area South eg National Treatment Centre , Stracathro, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Providers may be required to pick up patients from across Grampian and to hospitals in Edinburgh or Glasgow or to any other hospitals outside the Grampian region. For these journeys, the potential providers will be expected to be available at very short notice and journeys could take place anytime including overnight, weekends, and public holidays. A minimum of two providers will be appointed to this lot. Further information is available on the Specification and ITT docs within the Master ITT supplier document area.

9 Journeys from across NHS Grampian to anywhere outside NHSG North

This Lot covers the transportation of Patients to hospitals outside NHSG catchment area North eg National Treatment Centre , Inverness. Providers may be required to pick up patients from across Grampian and to hospitals in Inverness and to any other hospitals north of the Grampian region. For these journeys, the potential providers will be expected to be available at very short notice and journeys could take place anytime including overnight, weekends, and public holidays. A minimum of two providers will be appointed to this lot. Further information is available on the Specification and ITT docs within the Master ITT supplier document area.

10 Community Transport Journeys from NHSG to and from patient homes - Aberdeen

Local and non-local journeys across NHS Grampian sites from ARI or NHS Grampian sites to patient homes (as per indicative postcodes around Aberdeen (Aberdeen Royal Infirmary); and AB10, AB11, AB12, AB13, AB14, AB15, AB16, AB21, AB22, AB23, AB24, AB25) using community transport vehicles. This primarily includes day-time 8:30 – 16:30 planned: 1.Renal patient journeys to a NHS Grampian site for an appointment e.g. dialysis treatment. This will include Renal journeys from across NHS Grampian to and from local and non-local satellite Renal Units or Renal Unit at ARI. 2. Patient journeys from across Grampian to and from ARI or other non-local NHS Grampian sites or home e.g. hospitals, GP practices. 3. Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow.

This will include Renal journeys from across NHS Grampian to and from local and non-local satellite Renal Units or Renal Unit at ARI. 2. Patient journeys from across Grampian to and from ARI or other non-local NHS Grampian sites or home e.g. hospitals, GP practices. 3. Patients being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow.

17 Specialist Vehicles from NHSG sites to and from patients' homes - Aberdeen

Local and non-local discharge from NHS Grampian sites to other NHS sites or patient homes within NHS Grampian catchment within Aberdeen and around Aberdeen Royal Infirmary ( ARI). These transfer journeys require “specialist” vehicles with two-person crews.

18 Specialist Vehicles from NHSG sites to and from patients' homes - Elgin

Local and non-local discharge from NHS Grampian sites to other NHS sites or patient homes within NHS Grampian catchment within Elgin and around Dr. Grays Hospital. These transfer journeys require “specialist” vehicles with two-person crews.

19 Specialist Vehicles from NHSG sites to and from patients' homes

Local and non-local discharge from NHS Grampian sites to other NHS sites or patient homes within NHS Grampian catchment. These transfer journeys require “specialist” vehicles without clinical support. This includes: Patients with mobility or health challenges being discharged from hospital to maintain patient flow.

Other Information

The Authority shall notify all bidders of its decision to award the framework via PCS-Tender as soon as possible after a decision has been made. The Authority shall observe a 10 days standstill period before the contract is awarded. Unsuccessful bidders shall be debriefed accordingly. The Authority will be using PCS eTendering System for this procurement exercise and reserves the right to use a reverse auction. The tender publication will be from 13th March 2026 via this link (https://www.publictendersscotland.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/) and the deadline for the return of all completed Tenders is 12:00 on 14/03/2026.
