Description
The service provides additional primary care capacity of 170 appointments per day average from Monday to Friday commencing on 1st December for a thirteen-week period. The additional capacity is to be focused on but not exclusive to acute respiratory infection presenting patients. The solution must ensure access within reasonable geographic distance and align with existing GP Extended Access provision to ensure demonstrable additionally in provision.

Additional primary care capacity of an average of 170 appointments per day from Monday to Friday commencing on 1st December for a thirteen-week period. The additional capacity is to be focused on but not exclusive to acute respiratory infection presenting patients. The solution must ensure access within a reasonable geographic distance and align with existing GP Extended Access provision . This notice is confirmation of an award having been made due to an urgent circumstance (i.e. that this is an urgent award). The lifetime value of the contract is £600,000. Contract commencement was 24th October 2025 to allow time for mobilisation. The service commenced on the 1st December 2025 until the 1st March 2026. Northamptonshire collective at scale providers for primary care services are able to work collaboratively through contract awarded to 3Sixty Care to ensure delivery to specification and timescales can be achieved. This would not be possible through existing individual primary care providers.

Legal Justification
This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Procurement Act 2023 do not apply to this award.

This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Procurement Act 2023 do not apply to this award. Funding needs to be provided through to a Primary Care to meet NHSE requirements. The service must be in place by 1st December 2025 to support winter pressures. The identified provider will disseminate funds across GP practices in the Northants Primary Care system. An emergency award will allow services to be put in place by 1st December 2025 and provision of ARI funds will be planned into the Urgent Emergency Care budget for all future financial years in line with the PSR 2023 regulations. The decision to award was taken at the Joint Executive Committee (JET) at NICB. No conflicts of interest were declared.
