The contract is for Technical Adviser/Architect Services for a programme of works required to the facade overcladding and roof of the Palaeontology building at the Natural History Museum. The contract was originally below threshold but contract variations are bringing the total value to above threshold. The contract originally started on 11 July 2023 and is expected to be completed by 31 March 2027.

Legal Justification

BPA Architecture was awarded the contract for Palaeontology Cladding and roofing project in May 2024. In addition to the original scope of works, additional services were required due to unforeseen circumstances. These led to an uplift in the contract value. Furthermore, the contract was extended to complete the original scope of works, leading to a further uplift in the contract value. The final phase of these works now needs to be completed, which was noted in the original below threshold procurement exercise but not costed and included within the total contract value. These bring the total contract value to above threshold.
