Description
A specialist contact lens service for the people of Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership. This service provides customised fitting and care for individuals with complex eye conditions or prescriptions that standard lenses cannot address. Using advanced technology such as detailed corneal mapping with up to 350,000 data points, experts can fit specialist lenses including sclerals and rigid gas permeables, supporting conditions such as keratoconus, severe dry eye, and post-surgical corneal changes.

This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to contract award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 or the Procurement Act 2023 do not apply to this award. The publication of this notice marks the start of the Standstill Period. Representations by providers must be made to the relevant authority by 7 April 2026. This contract has not yet been formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award a contract awarded under the PSR. Decision maker: Wakefield Executive Management Team Assessment: The service was evaluated against the PSR Key Criteria (weighted equally) using narrative based evidence service review.
