Legal Justification

The current provider unexpectedly served notice on the contract leaving insufficient time to secure a replacement provider via a full tender process. The key priority is continuity of care for the residents of the care home and there is risk of service disruption for vulnerable adults if a contract is not in place by 1 April. A 2 year term is needed to stabilise the service and based on quotes received 2 years is the term needed to go forward.
