Description

We require a provider to deliver a service to complete medical examinations and examiner summaries in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost in order to improve our assessment process and access to panel. The Authority intends to enter into a Contract for an initial period of 12 months, with an option to extend by mutual agreement for up to a further 24 months. The anticipated Contract commencement date is 01.04.2024. Maximum potential term of the contract will be until 31.03.2027

Legal Justification

Due to the short notice of the ICB pulling their current resource to provide the Medical Advisor and the responsibility falling to the LA we have no choice but to urgently increase a pre-existing contract in order to meet demand in a timely manner. There is a significant risk that if we delay foster carers or connected carers that we increase the likelihood of a looked after young person becoming accommodated in an Unregulated arrangement due to a lack of sufficiency. These arrangements have no statutory regulation and are Unlawful.

This contract has been modified under the urgent circumstances provision of the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
