This Lot covers the dispensing and delivery of complex and specialised medicines that require direct administration by qualified personal for complex treatments that cannot be safely managed by the patient alone, even with training. High tech activities will include, but not limited to: • Intravenous infusion • Self-administration needing advanced aseptic technique and / or portable equipment /specialist ancillaries • Products that are compounded aseptic medicines • Administration by healthcare professional • Provision of refrigeration equipment • Clinical decisions taken within approved clinical protocol with escalation of out-of-limit findings to the clinically responsible person • Chemotherapy compounding • Cancer Care • Palliative Care

A Virtual Ward, also known as Hospital at Home, is a model of care that provides hospital-level treatment to patients in their own homes or care homes, rather than in a hospital. They are staffed by multidisciplinary teams (MDT) using technology for remote monitoring and communication.
