The contract is for the provision of the complete range of acute services across Norfolk and Waveney. These are provided from sites across Norfolk and Waveney ensuring geographical coverage and adequate patient access for all residents and visitors. Services commissioned include; Accident and Emergency Services (Type 1 and Type 2 only) (A+E) Acute Services (A) Ambulance Services (AM) Cancer Services and/or Radiotherapy Services (CR) Continuing Healthcare Services (including continuing care for children) (CHC) Community Services (CS) Diagnostic, Screening and/or Pathology Services (D) End of Life Care Services (ELC) Mental Health and Learning Disability Services (MH) Mental Health and Learning Disability Secure Services (MHSS) NHS 111 Services (111) Patient Transport Services (non-emergency) (PT) Urgent Treatment Centre Services (including Walk-in Centre Services/Minor Injuries Units) (U) The contract is awarded effective from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031 (5 years initial term) with an option for a further extension of up to an additional 3 years. The contract value is £1,156,334,000 (excluding spec comm) for 2026/27. The contract also includes specialised services with a value of £248,754,499 for 2026/27. The full award value for the term plus optional extension and associate values is £11,808,074,446 (this excludes expected annual adjustments based on changes to NHS Payment System Unit Prices and NHS Cost Uplift Factor for Local Prices). NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board are awarding the contract named within this notice under the Direct Award A process which is outlined within the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The provider named in this notice is being awarded the contract as the nature of the service means there is no realistic alternative to the existing provider(s). The ICB may wish to introduce additional services during the lifetime of the contract ("Contract modifications"). Such contract modifications will be considered where additional requirements are similar and or complementary to the services already included in the specification, at any given time. Such expansion would be by the addition of services commissioned by the Authority as named in the Contract Notice. To this end, after the award of contract, there is a possibility that the contract may be varied as allowable in accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
