Legal Justification

Despite best efforts and additional methods SFRS only received 5 bids in response to the open tender exercise. One of these was late and was rejected, two were non-compliant and two were compliant. Unfortunately only 6 lots out of the 26 original lots were covered by the 2 compliant bids. SFRS still requires these areas to be covered by at least one supplier.

Other Information

In line with paragraph 7 of regulation 91 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, the contract award will be made no earlier than 10 days after the publication of this voluntary ex ante transparency notice. This contract will be used as and when required with no commitment by SFRS to place any orders with any suppliers or to purchase any minimum quantity of vehicles. Multiple suppliers may be used across areas to provide resilience hence the five areas that have an additional lot associated. The overall value is not a guarantee of spend. (SC Ref:832735)
