Description

Provision of training and support services for the delivery of the General Practice Nurse (GPN) Foundation Programme, including education, supervision and programme facilitation.

Total Quantity or Scope

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is seeking to provide information in relation to a potential procurement for the provision of General Practice Nurse (GPN) Foundation Programme support services. The programme is funded by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). The GPN Foundation Programme is a structured development programme designed to support nurses entering general practice, enabling them to develop the core knowledge, clinical competencies and skills required to practise safely and independently within a primary care setting. The Health Board is considering requirements for the delivery of education, training and associated programme support. This may include structured learning provision, training facilitation, support for supervision and assessment, and programme coordination, with an emphasis on quality assurance and effective competency development. Delivery of the programme requires the provider to be an established General Practice within the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board area, in order to ensure alignment with local service delivery models, patient population, and supervision arrangements. Accordingly, only GP practices operating within the Cardiff and Vale UHB boundary will be considered as part of any subsequent procurement process.
