Description

The main purpose of the contract is a services concession contract. The Crown Estate, as manager of the seabed around England, Wales and Northern Ireland, is seeking to award seabed rights to a developer for the development of an offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea, which has an maximum potential energy generation capacity of 1.5GW. These rights will be governed by an ‘agreement for lease’, which will be awarded to a successful bidder through a competitive tender process under the Procurement Act 2023. The holder of the agreement for lease will acquire the rights necessary to develop an offshore wind farm and will ultimately enter into lease with The Crown Estate for the construction and operation of this wind farm. The maximum contract value has been stated in this notice as [00000 GBP] as The Crown Estate is unable to state a maximum contract value for the Morgan tender which is the subject of this Planned Procurement Notice, due to the impossibility of predicting what the likely overall value of the concession to the developer will be.
