Service & Maintenance of HGV's

Description

The service is for the provision of fleet maintenance and servicing services for company owned HGVs, including routine maintenance, inspections and repairs required to support the ongoing operation of United Utilities fleet. The fleet consists of approximately 35 HGVs. Services will be delivered on an as needed basis in accordance with operational requirements, ensuring that the United Utilities fleet remains safe, compliant and roadworthy

Legal Justification

The Authority intends to award this contract on a direct basis for the reasons of: Single Supplier - Schedule 5, Paragraph 6: - due to an absence of competition for technical reasons, only a particular supplier can supply the goods, services or works required Additional or repeat goods, services or works: The public contract concerns the supply of goods, services or works by the existing supplier which are intended as an extension to, or partial replacement of, existing goods, services or works in circumstances where- a change in supplier would result in the contracting authority receiving goods, services or works that are different from, or incompatible with, the existing goods, services or works, and the difference or incompatibility would result in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation or maintenance
