Description

The Gremista Landfill, Lerwick Phase 3 extension will primarily involve cut and fill earthworks, new haul roads, installing new surface water drainage ditches, pipework, manholes, and headwalls; placing a 500mm bentonite-enriched soil layer over the new landfill formation surface; followed by a 2mm HDPE welded geomembrane basal liner, protection geotextile, leachate collection pipework, and 500mm thick, clean aggregate drainage / protection layer. Capping works to the existing Phase 2 landfill area are also included and will comprise 1mm thick LLDPE welded geomembrane and restoration soils.

The type of contract to be awarded is a Works contract. The procedure is a regulated procurement governed by the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. The procedure being followed is an Open Procedure.
