Description
The Authority has a requirement for a suitably qualified and experienced contractor for the provision of Security Services to attend cruise / passenger vessels whilst visiting Orkney within the remit of the Council in its role as Statutory Harbour Authority.
Total Quantity or Scope
The Authority has a requirement for a suitably qualified and experienced contractor for the provision of Security Services to attend cruise / passenger vessels whilst visiting Orkney within the remit of the Council in its role as Statutory Harbour Authority. The main locations being (but not necessarily limited to):- Kirkwall Pier, Hatston Pier, Stromness Piers, including Copland’s Dock, Scapa Pier, Lyness Pier, All other piers within Orkney Harbours areas (as required) Contract will commence on the 1 January 2027 for a fixed period of three years, with options for two further twelve months extensions, giving a maximum period of five years.

Initial term of 3 years with 2 x 12 month extension available.

Orkney Islands Council reserves the right to cancel the procurement at any stage and not award a Contract. The expenditure, work or effort undertaken by bidders prior to the award of any Contract is accordingly a mater solely for the commercial judgement of bidders. Late tenders will not be considered by the Council and all questions are to be submitted via the Questions and Answers section of this Contract advertisement on PCS. An economic operator that suffers, or risks suffering, loss or damage attributable to a breach of duty under the Public contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 may bring proceedings in the Sheriff Court or Court of Session.
