Description

Durham County Council holds the budget for the regional Integrated Care System (ICS) Prevention Board, which is to be used to fund the employment of Clinical Lead for Healthier Weight Treating Obesity in the NHS for a 24 month period. The post holder will work on behalf of, and with, the Population Health and Prevention Board to provide clinical leadership to the development and implementation of the NENC ICS Healthier Weight and Treating Obesity vision and strategy. The clinical lead will champion obesity issues at a regional level and encourage and drive engagement with and between clinicians, partners and stakeholders around reducing obesity related harm at primary, secondary and tertiary prevention levels across the life course. The post holder will work closely with the project team and other partners to define: • The scope of the strategy and delivery plan • The overall vision for healthier weight and the treatment of obesity • Prioritise areas of work • Work with the project team to develop delivery plans and key performance indicators • Play a leading role in ensuring the agreed plan is delivered in a timely and effective manner as chair of the Healthier Weight and Treating Obesity Steering Group.
