As part of the Urban Tree Challenge Fund and Local Authority Treescape fund requirements, Essex County Council (the Authority) is looking to procure contractors to water and maintain 2151 urban standard trees across the county in 2025, 1894 in summer 2026 and 578 in summer 2027. The Authority is issuing this Preliminary Market Engagement Notice as a Request for Information (RFI) to engage with the market and gather insights into the tree watering and maintenance sector. The information collected will help shape and define the requirements for the forthcoming tender. This notice is intended as an awareness, communication and information gathering exercise. Participation is no indication of a commitment to partake in any future tendering process nor does it infer any preferential or special status on those individuals and organisations who participate.
