Legal Justification
Responses to the Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) conducted during Q1 2025 indicated that suppliers would require between one and three months to mobilise for delivery of this contract. Therefore, extending the current contract will mitigate significant operational disruption, as well as avoid unnecessary duplication of costs for the Trust. The original value of the contract was £1.25m with the extension costing £216,000 (approximately 17%), representing less than 50% of the original contract value.
Other Information
Testing is limited to different areas of the campus, with each area being tested each month to enable efficient delivery of the Services and minimise disruption by working around the various clinical teamsDue to the size and complexity of the system, the testing takes two days per week to complete. The contract has been awarded via Direct Award under Lot 8.2 (Fire Safety Equipment & Maintenance) of the NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) Hard FM 2 Framework: https://www.sbs.nhs.uk/fas-hard-facilities-management
